David and Lauren are on their honeymoon in less than exotic Atlanta, so chosen solely because David has to deal with his recently deceased father's estate there. David can't help but feel that there is a third invading their honeymoon, not only the spirit of his ex-girlfriend Sadie, who he broke up with due to her possessiveness and thus jealousy of any other woman in his life, her lies, and her temperamental nature sometimes leading to violence against him, but her actual presence. He isn't sure if he actually does see her or if he is fixating on what seems to be his troubled relationship history, troubles such as Cynthia, a woman he had dated prior to Sadie, having gone missing immediately after one of their dates, or more recently Lauren believing that she was being stalked by an unknown male while they were on a nature walk, something that they did report to the police. Those troubles continue when Lauren goes missing at a public market, and although he does report the incident to the police, they don't act upon it in surveillance footage showing Lauren walking off with an unknown man seemingly on her own volition, the police thus concluding that she left David voluntarily for that man. With the police not doing anything, David turns to the only person he thinks can help him, a private investigator named Gina who he and Lauren had earlier met in she staying at the same resort. While David and Gina go on a search for Lauren with David believing Sadie is behind what is happening in her possessiveness of him and thus wanting him back for herself, not all is as appears on the surface as he discovers money in his and Lauren's joint account goes missing.
