Joe Martin is an ordinary man. Unemployed and unhappy, he struggles to provide for his wife, Sarah. When he answers a classified ad looking for superheroes, he thinks it's a simple job of dressing up for children's parties, and after exaggerating his skills, he bluffs his way onto the team. Joe discovers that he is working with real superheroes, fighting real crime. With no superpowers, he struggles to find his place on the team, and at home.
