Plot Storyline

In 1988, young sisters Katie and Kristi befriend an invisible entity called Toby, who resides in their home.

Santa Rosa, California, 1988. Long before the terrifying hauntings of Paranormal Activity (2007) and Paranormal Activity 2 (2010), young sisters Katie and Kristi live a seemingly normal life with their mother, Julie, and her wedding-videographer boyfriend, Dennis. However, when the girls introduce an "imaginary friend" named Toby, what starts as a harmless childhood game quickly spirals into a domestic nightmare. Not knowing what to expect, Dennis sets up a makeshift home surveillance system, hoping to capture the mysterious nocturnal activities on VHS. They say seeing is believing; what the footage reveals is not a figment of a creative imagination but a tangible, hostile entity targeting the family. And as the violent hauntings escalate and a dark family secret emerges, the true, terrifying origin of the curse is finally caught on tape. What if evil is hereditary?
