Episode description:
Naive young Christopher starts on a one-day trial at the Sutton Phone Shop after assistant manager Gary Patel has been jailed for attacking the lads from Top Shop with a crossbow. He meets his new boss,Lance - whose medication has odd side effects - the ambitious but serious Janine and jokers Ashley and Jerwayne (twenty-nine but still living at home) who are nonetheless hot shot salespeople. Unlike Christopher - whom they nickname New Man. Indeed Christopher is considering quitting until he effects a sale which suddenly makes him very popular.
