Plot Storyline
The story of the worst mass poisoning in British history and the cover up that followed - told by those whose lives were devastated and those that were in charge of the water industry at the time.
In 1988, the Thatcher Government was planning to sell off the water industry in their most controversial privatisation so far. That summer in North Cornwall 20,000 people were exposed to water contaminated by aluminium sulphate accidentally entering the water supply. South West Water advised it was safe to drink, but people became ill and thousands of animals died. The film follows the complex timeline of who knew what and when, it exposes staggering levels of cover up and it charts the battle of the survivors, who blame it for the loss of their loved ones and their 37 year fight for justice.
