Plot
Storyline
A look at the short, mysterious life of blues legend, Robert Johnson, who was said to have made a deal with the Devil at a crossroads in rural Mississippi.
Robert Johnson recorded 29 songs over five days in 1936 and 1937, died at 27, and somehow became the blueprint for everything that came after. One guitar. His voice. His foot keeping time. It sounds like rock and roll before rock and roll exists. Nobody saw the work. They just heard the result and invented a legend to explain it. This documentary doesn't explain the myth. It makes you understand why it exists.
