In the high mountains of rural Peru and the wind-swept landscapes of the Andes, the fourteen-year-old boy, Segundo, prepares to follow in his sculptor father's footsteps, and learn the traditional art of box-making. Indeed, depicting intricate religious scenes and significant everyday events on wood is a dying art; however, even though Segundo admires his father, more and more, he is feeling the heavy burden of legacy on his shoulders. Then, the accidental discovery of a well-hidden family secret will bring young Segundo face-to-face with the profoundly religious and well-knit community.
