Plot
Storyline
Following Jigsaw's grisly demise, Mark Hoffman is commended as a hero, but Agent Strahm is suspicious, and delves into Hoffman's past. Meanwhile, another group of people are put through a series of gruesome tests.
Picking up where Saw IV (2007) left off, corrupt Detective Mark Hoffman, the hero of the Jigsaw case, continues the infamous killer's bloody legacy. And having imprisoned five new specimens for his brutal trials, Hoffman proudly follows in his mentor's footsteps. After all, the setup is almost identical, the torture devices are on a par with his predecessor, and the chances of survival are equally slim, even for those who follow the instructions to the letter. But as a series of death traps forces the unrelated victims to confront their weaknesses, Agent Peter Strahm digs deeper into the Jigsaw case files, looking for a fresh angle. More and more, Strahm inches closer to his target and the truth. However, is he prepared for the ultimate sacrifice before redemption?
