It's four days until Shane and Oliver's wedding. Norman and Rita are interviewing for the temporary position to fill necessary human resources during Shane and Oliver's honeymoon. Norman and Rita come to believe that replacement person came their way for a reason personal to them. Shane's mother, who is staying with Shane for three days, one day longer than Shane thinks she can tolerate with her unique mother, arrives a day earlier than expected, raising Shane's already high blood pressure. Through this busy time, Shane and Oliver work through the latest dead letter, one from a pile damaged when syrup from a waffle truck spilled on a bag of mail. What they can decipher is that a child's drawing is enclosed, it drawn by someone named Owen of probably himself and who he considers his hero, "Ferd" (which they rightly assume is supposed to be Fred). The letter, written by Owen's mother, is asking the person to who she addressed the letter, for Fred's return during Owen's medical time of need, which is suspected to be a case of leukemia. In dealing with this letter and with Shane's mother, both directly and through Shane, Oliver has to deal with his biggest fear in life which could affect if they make it up the altar.
