When Sheriff Mitch Rivers finds the bodies of two prominent and wealthy citizens of his town in their bedroom on the Halloween night, he asks Deputy Bear to bring his friend, the psychologist, Dr. Jake Rainer, to the crime scene. Mr. and Mrs. Warden had been stabbed to death and their autistic son Tim Warden is the only witness, but he does not speak.
