In 1983, Soviet cosmonaut Konstantin Veshnyakov survives a catastrophic return from space while his crew-mate Kirill Averchenko dies under horrifying circumstances. She soon discovers an alien organism emerging from Veshnyakov each night, bound to him in a symbiotic relationship.
