Plot:
UFC 74 was the first time that Randy Couture defended his Heavyweight Championship after upsetting Tim Sylvia at UFC 68. He went against Gabriel Gonzaga who had won the #1 contender ship against Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic at UFC 70. Gonzaga shocked the world at UFC 70 with a devastating kick on Cro Cop. So this was a huge HW title fight at the time. Couture used what he's known best for that is his greco roman wrestling and then ground and pound to get a TKO victory in the 3rd round. In the co-main event of the evening Georges St. Pierre bounced back from his surprising loss to Matt Serra at UFC 69 with a unanimous decision win here over Josh Koscheck.Roger Huerta, Joe Stevenson and Patrick Cote were also able to secure main card victories on this card.It was a pay per view event that definitely was worth the price of the show.
