In London, the Canadian Hannay, who came from Montreal, flirts with a woman in the show of Mr. Memory, a man capable to memorize several information. When there are shots during the show, she goes with him to his apartment and tells him that her name is Annabelle Smith. Further, she says that she is a spy, and she shot in the theater to create havoc and flee from two assassins. She asks for a map from Scotland and highlights a location on the map.
