The Bigamist (1953) BRRip Oldies

Husband and wife Harry and Eve Graham own and operate their own successful freezer business in San Francisco, Harry the traveling salesman, which frequently takes him to Los Angeles, and Eve the administrative genius. They have known for years that they could not have their own children, but have only recently made the decision to adopt, and Mr. Jordan, their agency representative, tells them that he is at the background-check stage of their application. When Mr. Jordan notices Harry's unease with that pronouncement, he plays a hunch and discovers that Harry is leading a double life with another family--wife Phyliis Martin Graham and infant son David Graham--in Los Angeles. He confronts Harry, who not only denies none of it but also proceeds to tell Mr. Jordan the story of how he met Phyllis and how the relationship progressed to marriage and a baby. With mixed emotions of hate for Harry doing something knowingly illegal and admiration for the rationale for doing it, Mr. Jordan must decide what to do with this information.
