From 1968 to 1973, the Bruder family used a Super-8 camera to document their everyday life in the Markisches Viertel district of Berlin-Reinickendorf. They got the camera from the filmmaker Helga Reidemeister, who was working as a social worker on site at the time. Over a period of six years, the family, without the intervention of the filmmaker, recorded their everyday life. The film is a precise look at the living conditions of a working-class family in the Markisches Viertel of the early 70s, a study on the architectural conditionality of social relationships and a document of a process of consciousness.
