Cardiologist WONGPO FUN returned to the Ling Shiu Hospital in 1996. He persuaded a tycoon Mr CHING to have laser surgery, which was the latest technology to stimulate the growth of new blood vessels. While FUN was performing the surgery, his girlfriend HA HIU TUNG, a gynaecologist who worked for an international voluntary organization, the “Life Force”, in Kenya, was delivering a baby for a woman who had malaria. Unfortunately, the woman died from the labour, which depressed TUNG. When TUNG came back to Hong Kong, she tried to persuade FUN to go to Kenya with her. FUN proposed to her with a specially made key ring. She dropped the ring and was killed by a car when she tried to find it back on the road. FUN was devastated.
