Plot
Storyline
The video for the Buggles' classic one-shot, about how the rise of television (and, by extension, music videos) hurt the careers of those performers whose looks would not translate well to the new medium.
The music video for "Video Killed the Radio Star", the song by The Buggles about the difficulty of singers transitioning from radio to the relatively new medium of television, ironically was the first video broadcast on Music Television, better known as MTV, on August 1st, 1981. Memorable for its imagery, which includes exploding televisions, the video aired twice during the channel's first 24 hours. The video also features a young Hans Zimmer, briefly seen as the keyboardist wearing black.
