Plot
Storyline
A coal mining corporation and a tiny community vie for the last great mountain in Appalachia in a battle for the future of energy that affects us all.
The fight for the last untouched mountain in the Appalachian range, threatened by mining giants who aim to blast it apart to extract coal, disregarding the voices of local communities striving to save the mountain. Surface mining is at the center of battles to balance energy needs with environmental interests. Nowhere in America is the issue as intense as in the Coal River Valley, West Virginia, where small but determined groups of ordinary citizens are working to stop large coal corporations like Massey Energy from conducting their devastating surface coal mining operations.
