Plot
Storyline
Pawel Kowal, a young Pole, discovers that Zygmunt, his father, whom he had always taken for a hero of the 'Solidarity' syndicate, may have hidden a less glorious past, at the service of the communist regime. Little by little, their relationships are undermined by the ghosts of the past...
Paul makes a living with his father in Poland. He is shocked to discover his father's picture on the cover of a tabloid newspaper with the word 'traitor'. A certified hero of the struggle against totalitarianism, is suddenly accused of having acted as a secret informer for the communist regime. Paul is certain that his father's enemies invented the story. But he's father bizarre reactions lead him to doubt his innocence. Father also decides to go hide to wait for 'things to settle down'. A former member of the secret police under the communist regime, holds the answers to what did happened at that time. But the whole truth is even more difficult to face, as much for Paul, as it is for his country...
