Before thousands of enthusiastic spectators at the World Cup semi-finals between France and China, a professional assassin murders the famous French coach. The unknown killer even manages to snatch his prized possession from his finger: the priceless Pink Panther diamond ring. To solve the mystery, Chief Inspector Charles Dreyfus assigns this challenging case to small-village officer Jacques Clouseau, the most unlikely detective in the force.
