Psychiatrist Dr. Kate Bryant is on staff at St. John's Hospital in Pine River, California. She wanted to become a psychiatrist since she was little to be able to help people like her mentally challenged younger sister. She likes her job except having to deal with the narcissistic hospital administrator, Spaulding Tyler, who believes he's God gift to women, most specifically Kate. He has even banned any celebration of Christmas at the hospital, including no decorations, as it has always overshadowed his December 26th birthday. While Kate is out for a jog on December 19th, she is saved from a serious collision by a young man wearing a Santa suit, he who in turn suffers a possible head injury. With no identification on his self, he states that his name is Nick... Claus. As such, Kate decides to take him back to the hospital for observation in the psychiatric ward while she tries to figure out who he really is. Nick imbues the hospital with the cheer of Christmas, most specifically the psychiatric ward and the children's ward, the two that probably needed it the most. In doing so, many of the people at the hospital begin to believe that Nick may truly be Santa Claus. Nick's antics do not sit well with Spaulding, who does his best to quash anything that Nick does. But Nick may be able to bring a sense of life back to workaholic Kate, who has not truly celebrated a Christmas since she was a child. Kate, in turn, may be falling for Nick, regardless of who he is. However, she may need to be pushed by others to open her eyes to her true feelings.
