Kate North, with her recent Ph.D. sister Bailey North by her side in Bailey being otherwise unemployed, has just taken over running North Star Academy, a school for Santas - mall Santas, party Santas, parade Santas - following the retirement of its founder and former owner, Kate and Bailey's father Richard North. While Richard ran, and now Kate runs the academy on heart, its main competitor, Saint Nicholas Academy, operated by North Star's former business manager Blaise, runs on a flashy corporate, bottom line mentality, that flash which seems to be winning the competition between the two. Despite that heart, Kate isn't sure if running the academy is her destiny in she never really having thought much about it until this crossroads in her life. In this transitional phase, Kate has hired who is considered the best trainer in the business, Dan, as he was just fired by Blaise solely in his salary taking up too much of that bottom line. Kate hiring him is despite they having dated once, Dan always wanting to have that second date while Kate has had a hands off relationship with him when she found out he worked for Saint Nicholas. In the middle of the woods driving to work, Kate and Dan discover an elderly man wearing a Santa outfit and being disoriented. From what they see, they know that he is the real Santa Claus with amnesia. In this lead up to Christmas, they know they have to get "Nick" to regain his memory in short order or risk this Christmas being ruined. They decide the best thing to do is immerse him in their latest Santa class comprised of six disparate and not traditional Santa types. Through it all, Kate has decide what to do about her relationship with Dan, her professional competition with Saint Nicholas, and by association a lucrative offer to buy the property on which the academy sits.
