In the north east of England, Alpha recovery ops Kevin and Ian battle the snow and ice to rescue a stricken fuel tanker that's slipped off a frozen track while making a delivery. With nowhere to turn and limited space they must perform a tricky reverse winch pull using hundreds of metres of line. They're relying on a tree as an anchor point and the power of their 4x4 road rescuer. It's a risky manoeuvre, if they get it wrong the cable could snap causing carnage.On the outskirts of Loughborough, trucking legend Dave Crouch is back on the road, riding to the rescue of a sweeper truck that's broken down. A spring on its rear axel broke and it skidded to a halt. The wheels are mired in the muddy verge, and it needs a winch out and a tow to the garage. To get it back on track Dave's relying on his trusty Scammell to do the heavy lifting.In north London, Lantern op Steve is dealing with a sticky situation. A road paver is stuck in tarmac and the only way out is with the heavy weight help of Steve's wrecker. It's far from straightforward as the road is only half built, meaning he can't park his hauler where he needs it. He manages to find a stable spot and gambles on a single winch line pull to get it out of trouble, but it soon becomes clear that this is no simple winch out. Quick thinking Steve has to change tack using a snatch block to double his pulling power, but will it be enough?
