In London, Maya learns that she is pregnant, and her husband Jamie goes to the grocery store to buy champagne to celebrate the pregnancy. However, three scums break into their apartment and beat them. Meanwhile, Jamie's aunt Maeve dies in the countryside of Ireland, and he inherits her house. Jamie and Maya decide to move to the house to have a peaceful life in the countryside. On the arrival, his cousin Niamh warns them that they should provide a bloody lever every day to the far darrigs, a.k.a. redcaps, that live in the forest, but she could do it. Maya says that she would take care of the assignment. They see that the house needs some renovation, mostly a hole on the roof, and Niamh provides a list of constructors for them. However, they are all busy and the couple decides to hire "Daddy" Whelan, who has an advertisement on the road. On the next morning, he arrives with his crew, formed by his sons Killian Whelan, the slow Eoin Whelan, and his daughter Aisling Whelan, when the problems of the young couple begin. When Maya sees the little creature far darrig, their problems increase, but Jamie does not believe in Maya.
