In the summer of 2010, the body of a teenager is fished out of the water in Madrid. The clues lead 39-year-old widowed police inspector Maria Ruiz (Marta Nieto) to Pamplona. Together with her colleague Carlos (Luis Callejo), she investigates the surroundings of a Catholic school that is anything but cooperative. Everyone there seems to be burdened by dark events. Suspicions of abuse become increasingly concrete. Madrid journalist Luna (Jose Coronado), who interviews former victims, also learns of denial and repression by the highest authorities. Only when Padre Damian (Tomas del Estal) breaks his silence under the weight of events-contrary to the highest church instructions-does Maria's investigation make progress. She stumbles upon the story of a man (Richard Sahagun) who, as a child at this school over 30 years ago, had to endure the worst experiences himself - and now seeks redemption through religious fanaticism and cruel methods. When she tries to confront him at the school, he initially flees. But she refuses to be shaken off, putting herself in grave danger in the process.
