Plot
Storyline
Two friends on a summer holiday in Spain become enamored with the same painter, unaware that his ex-wife, with whom he has a tempestuous relationship, is about to re-enter the picture.
Vicky, a cerebral, soon-to-be-married major in Catalan studies, and Cristina, her adventurous and carefree best friend, decide to spend their summer vacation in beautiful Barcelona. But there, the same man catches their eye at an art gallery exhibition: he is seductive Juan Antonio, an eccentric painter known for his scandalous divorce from Maria Elena, his tempestuous former wife. And as one thing leads to another, Vicky and Cristina join Juan Antonio on a long weekend in his hometown of Oviedo. However, the ladies are unaware that the sweet perplexities of passion and the haunting mystery of desire are about to lure everyone into a volatile menage a quatre. And now, it's too late for regrets or compromises. Will things ever be the same?
