Plot
Storyline
A private in the latter days of WWII on the German front struggles between his will to survive and what his superiors perceive as a battlefield instinct.
November 1944. The Allied advance towards Germany is progressing but in the Hurtgen Forest area it has stalled. The terrain and stubborn German resistance has turned the region into a meatgrinder. In the middle of all this is a veteran, Private Manning, doing his best to stay alive despite suicidal tactics by his superiors. When he is reluctantly promoted to Sergeant he is given a squad of raw replacements to command. Now, instead of just looking out for himself, he has to care about the lives of others.
