Plot Storyline
A young doctor falls in love with a disturbed young woman, becomes involved in her husband's death, and must flee with her to the Mexican border.
From a humble background, Dr. Jeff Cameron is a surgeon at a San Francisco hospital, he just at the start of his career. His latest emergency patient is a Jane Doe attempted suicide, that Jane Doe status as the anonymous male who brought her into the hospital vanished without a trace before anyone could speak to him after discovering he provided a false name and address for her. In addition, she is able to leave the hospital before anyone could confirm her true identity. However, she reaches Jeff personally via telegram asking him to meet her at her home. She is really socialite Margo Lannington. Smitten to the point of infatuation, Jeff begins a relationship with her despite already dating Julie Dorn, a nurse at the hospital. There is a snag in their relationship upon the return to town of her father who is taking her away and would cut her off financially if she married Jeff. Going to her home to confront her father, Jeff discovers that the elderly man who he assumes is her father is actually her husband. With Jeff and Lannington getting into an altercation, Lannington ends up dead and Jeff with a serious concussion. Although Jeff's first inclination is to do the right thing and call the police, Margo is able to convince him to run off together out of the country before the body is discovered, the decision to drive to Mexico under the circumstances. Beyond Jeff's concussion which is not only affecting him physically but is impairing his judgment, what happens with the two of them is affected by secrets Margo is keeping from him tying back to why she ended up in the hospital in the first place.
