On the quiet but fateful day of September 11, 2001, the officers of New York City's Port Authority, Sergeant John McLoughlin and William J. Jimeno, received an emergency call. But, as they tried to evacuate the building after the sudden and devastating attack on the World Trade Center towers by massive airliners piloted by terrorists, McLoughlin and Jimeno found themselves trapped inside the crippled skyscraper.
