Plot:
Nikolai Nikolaevich, in the film "Yolki-sticks! ..." - a simple mechanic from a modest provincial town who is engaged in the repair of televisions. But with such a monotonous work, his imagination simply pours out brilliant ideas. Now he invents a perpetual motion machine, then he is going to save the entire planet from a terrible disease, a cure for which no one has been able to find for hundreds of years, then he will come up with something else. And after all, with all this, he annoys not only those around him, but also UNESCO, academies and a number of other important organizations. In general, the real Kulibin is a self-taught inventor, a talented and resourceful engineer, a hermit and an enthusiast who will always find something to do with his hands and head. But one day an even more insane idea is born in his imagination - he is going to give up everything and go into politics in order to make a career of a prominent statesman. But the trouble is, somehow in the political field he did not work out from the very first days. After all, it was only in his dreams that Nikolai Nikolayevich could afford to hover in empirical conclusions, look down on everyone around him who is allowed to step on the same ground with him. He takes all of them for simple and unworthy commoners, who are not given to know the whole truth of real life. Against this background, the idea of a stunning and fast-paced career of a popular politician no longer seems to the protagonist as something fantastic. He is sure that he will easily pick up the key to the hearts of millions and be able to become at least a deputy, and maybe even more. Perhaps he would have been shocked to learn that most of his neighbors perceive him as nothing more than a city madman.
