Plot
Storyline
Love story of a speaking skills teacher and her student.
One evening, 60-year-old actress Anna becomes the victim of theft. Her handbag is snatched outside a trendy West Berlin bar. For a brief moment, the aging film diva and the young pickpocket exchange glances. Thanks to a couple who witnessed the incident and pursued and apprehended the perpetrator, the distraught Anna gets her belongings back shortly afterwards. That could be the end of the matter, serving only as an exciting story for Michel, Anna's landlord, biggest fan, and only confidant. But fate has other plans for these two people, who each in their own way stand somewhat "apart" from life and society: Anna, the actress who has been living alone since the death of her husband and has not been on stage or in front of the camera for a long time, and Adrian, an orphan and occasional thief who is considered a difficult case. Shortly after the theft, they meet again unexpectedly. Anna gives speech and acting lessons at a social welfare organization-and Adrian is her new student. What begins as lessons soon develops into a deep relationship. Anna gives Adrian a voice he never knew he had and teaches him the art of living. Adrian, in turn, gives Anna a purpose, meaning, and his undivided attention. The lessons turn into dinners, walks, and shared cigarettes. As love blossoms between the aging diva and the young rebel, they encounter their first real obstacles. Together, they decide to leave the city and start over somewhere else, perhaps in Nice, definitely by the sea.
