Plot Storyline

Narrated by Lily Tomlin, this documentary short traces mankind's long history with elephants and explores the many problems that arise when they are brought to live in captivity in zoos and circuses.

Interviews with various activists, such as Pat Derby (founder of the non-profit Performing Animal Welfare Society), biologists, scientists, zoologists, and veterinarians, who not only discuss the suffering of beautiful, intelligent, sentient animals such as elephants but also the negative effects of their capture on the environment.
