Ancient India

This travelogue of ancient India begins in the town of Bundi, which retains the ancient traditions of feudal India, such as its residents' allegiance to the maharajah who still inhabits the palace, one of the town's most grand structures. The final stop in Bundi is a religious shrine that has been overtaken by a colony of wild monkeys, apropos seeing as to the importance of monkeys in Indian religious life. En route to the next stop, scenes of traditional farm life can be seen as farmers travel via oxen drawn carts. That stop is Jaipur, its founder Jai Singh who endeavored to make it the most wondrous city in India. Like in Bundi, the estate of the maharajah of Jaipur is one of the town's most grand structures. Before concluding with an elephant ride which the narrator likens to the movement of a rocking boat, some abandoned cities are seen, they which were victims of the whims of rulers who wanted to put in place their own vision of new cities literally from the ground up.
