Captive Heart: The James Mink Story

James Mink is a black man living in the 19th century in Canada, a man of affluence. He is married to a white woman and they have a daughter who is black. An American asks for his daughter's hand in marriage and he gives it. But after they leave they discover that he sold her into slavery and there's nothing they can do. A woman who works for him who was a slave who escaped tells him of the underground railroad. So she tells him where he can contact them and he goes but upon arriving is subjected to the indignities that all blacks went through at the time.
