A megalomaniac, ruthless prince does everything in his power to expand his power. A magic cap promised to him by a busy junk dealer and his accomplice is supposed to be particularly useful in this endeavor. The two scoundrels suspect that the magic cap is in the possession of a hat maker, whom the prince then has arrested. However, Vitek, the hat maker's son, and his friends Hynek and Majda get there before the crooks. They find the hat in the attic, quickly figure out how to use it, and turn its magic against the prince.
