Cat and Mouse

A mysterious phone call brings Mr. Richard home. Another call sends his maid away from the house. Later, the billionaire financier is found dead. Masterpieces have disappeared. The police's best officer, Commissioner Lechat, with his bizarre mannerisms, suspects the widow of plotting the murder to collect the life insurance money: Mr. Richard, in fact, seemed very much in love with Manuelle, an actress specializing in pornographic films, and was preparing to leave his wife. But the suspect has a solid alibi that Lechat and his deputy-who has become his son-in-law-try in vain to destroy.
