Being born in the Goutte d'Or neighborhood in Paris does not predispose you to a bright future. At Georges Clemenceau Middle School, however, teachers refuse to accept this negative outlook. On the contrary, they have made it their mission to help the local kids grow and flourish. Despite the violence of the social system, despite their young students' excessive carelessness, despite their wounds, well-meaning adults are there to guide them.
