Plot
Storyline
A tense drama set on both sides of the Iron Curtain, adapted from the play 'Music at Midnight' by Alan Thornhill and Peter Howard, about an Iron Curtain country revolutionary leader who is inspired to talk over things with the dictator after the revolt has failed and come to a mutual arrangement.
In a country oppressed by a military dictatorship, a revolt breaks out, and the rebel leader, Nils, seeks support from Western governments, who, however, fail to understand the reasons for the revolution and refuse to listen to him. After a moment of crisis, Nils returns to his country and decides to plead the popular cause directly with the dictator, who has since crushed the uprising. Any reference to the 1956 Hungarian uprising against the Soviet government is not purely coincidental.
