Virtual reality in Kaliningrad did not always mean the digital worlds: People in Kaliningrad have lived in at least two different levels of reality over the past 30 years. Faced with the modern ruins of a Soviet palace on the site of the former castle, they carried the invisible site of the German city of Konigsberg in their minds. As if Immanuel Kant was still taking his daily walk through the city and inviting guests to philosophical discussions, the Kaliningraders continued the dialogue with him in the present. A scientist, an architect, a writer, a student, a journalist. They all believed in the glorious future of this place, which should be able to unite the people of the world in the light of Immanuel Kant. But then the reality in today's Russia, which is waging a war against Ukraine, suddenly made their dream a distant memory. Their vision became more of a utopia. Today, they have a different "virtual reality." "If we do nothing, our train will go straight to hell" - "We are already in hell."
