Plot Storyline

Three surreal depictions of failures of communication that occur on all levels of human society.

Against the backdrop of director Jan Svankmajer's surreal, extraordinary, labyrinthine world of animation, modern communication is under scrutiny. Three short segments form a triptych of verbal connection, starting with "Eternal Conversation", a vivid, violent fruit-and-vegetable extravaganza of destruction. Then, in "Passionate Discourse", the unwelcome complications of love pave the way for rabid brutality. Finally, Dimensions of Dialogue concludes with "Exhaustive Discussion", an interminable, aggressive game of perseverance and domination.
