Plot
Storyline
The stooges are photographers for Whack magazine ("If it's a good picture it's out of Whack") who, after messing up an assignment, are sent to the country of Vulgaria to get a picture of a death ray gun. In Vulgaria the penalty for taking pictures in is death, and the boys soon wind up in front of a firing squad. Curly's last request is a giant cigar and by the time he's done smoking it all the soldiers are asleep and the stooges make their escape.
It should also be noted that this is the short in which Curly has one of his most classic moments. The scene is in an eatery of some sort, and while Moe and Larry pick a table, Curly sits at the counter and orders oyster stew. The man then proceeds to have a physical argument with one of the oysters, which is still alive and likes to shoot stew-broth at Curly! One of the funniest scenes Curly ever did, it was re-created beautifully by actor Michael Chiklis, in 2000, for the TV-movie bio The Three Stooges.
