In a small village in the middle of the Bavarian Forest, the unemployment rate is rising dramatically. Since the closure of the local glass works, the effects have been felt everywhere. Even Waltraud, Maria, and Lena's small grocery store is on the verge of bankruptcy, with their business loan expiring in four weeks. Then some obscene phone calls give Maria a daring idea: an erotic telephone service for hot bedtime whispers could solve their financial problems in one fell swoop. Of course, they would have to keep their "hot number" secret in the staunchly Catholic town of Marienzell. Waltraud and Lena are not enthusiastic at first, but then the phone doesn't stop ringing for "Lady Sarah," "hot Maja," and "sweet Lolita." In record time, they have almost raised the entire loan amount. But the snooty mayor's wife soon finds the three women's new carefree attitude highly suspicious: she has them followed - and thus conjures up a scandal.
