Empire

Shire, an orphaned boy, lives with his aging grandfather, Cesar. One day Cesar unwittingly leads Shire into a hidden room under the basement where Shire discovers a collection of art work, journals, photographs and film that paint a picture of a life Cesar has mostly forgotten. Shire, in an effort to reconnect his grandfather to his past and understand his own history, takes Cesar on an adventure to rediscover lost memories. With little dialogue or music, 'Empire' uses sound design and mise en scene to tell a story in ways words cannot.
