Plot Storyline

Two very different people face their final stages of life, while those who played important roles in the fight to legalize euthanasia in Belgium, try to define how the right to live (and die) should or shouldn't be changed today.

Euthanasia has been legal in Belgium since 2002. However, many questions remain unanswered. The film follows Adelin and Eva, two very different people at the end of their lives. Adelin (83) suffers from dementia, and Eva (34) wants to end her unbearable and relentless mental suffering. Both are seeking a dignified farewell and departure. Additionally, Eva wishes to give her death meaning by donating her organs. Individuals who observe, study, and are knowledgeable about Belgian euthanasia law share their perspectives on this issue.
