Felix Saves the Day

The boys playing back alley baseball have a big game coming up that afternoon. And by "big" they mean big. It takes place at the Polo Grounds, and the crowd packs in like sardines to see the boys play. The only trouble is, the star player on the Nifty Nine has gotten into trouble with a cop. The boy nearly escapes the police officer by climbing up a tall building and, with the help of an egg conveniently provided by a flying bird, manages to knock his pursuer back to the ground. Unfortunately, the wily officer calls in a "fly cop." No, he's not a plainclothes detective. He's a cop who can literally fly. Soon the boy is jail, shackled to a ball and chain. Luckily, Felix the Cat is on the boy's side; and the clever kitty is willing and able to employ the services of Jupiter Pluvius to prevent the Tar Heels from beating his favored team.
