I'll Be Home for Christmas

It's late 1944 and World War II is still raging in Europe and the Pacific. Yet, Joseph and Martha Bundy of Rockport, Massachusetts hope to have all of their family home this Christmas. Eldest son, Mike, is coming home after completing his 21 bombing missions in Europe. His wife, Nora, is expecting their first baby any moment. Son Terrell, 17, has just completed boot camp and will ship overseas after Christmas. Youngest son, Davey, delivers papers in the town. Daughter Leah's fiance was killed early that year at Anzio. She works in a war industry plant in Pittsfield, a few hours away. Another GI, Aaron Copler, is on her bus. He's going to visit a boyhood friend in the Army hospital before he goes overseas. Leah invites him to stay and spend Christmas with her family.
