Storyline
Louis has always had a dream, to be on television. But when he enters a contest and wins, the first prize involves a cameraman following him everywhere for three months. The only problem is that Louis has a boring life, so the TV executives decide to put some excitement in it.
Louis Jobin is obsessed with television. He is a home electronics salesman, watches television whenever he can, and dreams of being on television in whatever capacity he can. His dream comes true when he wins the Big Star contest, the winner to be filmed twenty-four hours a day for three months straight, the show to be aired live on Channel 19 Montreal. Unbeknown to Louis or any of the other contestants, the television executives were looking for the most plain, real person to star in this reality series. Louis, the television personality, takes all of Montreal by storm, everyone, especially his mother Aline, who uses Louis for garnering their own fifteen minutes of fame. Eventually, continual access to Louis may be too much of a good thing, both for him and for the viewing public. The one person who does seem sincere in liking Louis for who he is is aspiring actress Julie Leduc, or does she too have ulterior motives?
