Portugal '74: The Soldiers' Revolution

At the turn of the 1970s, while Portugal had been under the rule of an intractable dictatorship for almost half a century, a handful of officers decided to do their utmost to liberate their country. In the shadow of the regime, they foment an unprecedented coup d'etat. The result was soon to be a revolution: the Carnation Revolution, which overthrew the Salazar regime in a single day, on April 25 1974, without bloodshed.
