Wacek, a university teacher suffering from restless legs syndrome, fears that his former collaboration with the Security Service will be revealed. His wife, Grazyna, unable to help him, pours all her anger into fighting a rat in the kitchen. Their daughter, Kama, is someone who is tempted by the modern world, sucked in, and then spit out. Kama's ex-boyfriend, Rafal, still lives with her parents, even though she dumped him long ago, and her new fiance, Bartek, makes no secret of the fact that his career is paramount.
