Plot
Storyline
The inmate of an asylum for conscientious objectors is released after many years of confinement, and decides to return home to his parents. But on his way back, he discovers that the outside world is crazier than he thought.
Having spent two long decades in a psychiatric hospital, Yannis Yannakis, a newly discharged mental health patient, feels like a new man. However, as the passive former inmate meanders through the bustling urban maze of a city that resembles Athens, Greece, determined to return to his hometown of Thessaloniki, reality comes back with a vengeance. Suddenly, it's a dog-eat-dog world, where corruption, decadence, madness, and political decline delineate the new face of Greece. Wouldn't Yannakis be better off if he returned to the psychiatric ward?
